Danseklubben is well connected in the community. We participate in many dance events organised by other dance groups and organisations in Tromsø.
We have special associations with:
Casino Royal
Casino Royal is the Rueda group in town – Rueda is a progressive dance form of Salsa. The founders, Nikolai and Svetlana are very active in dance in the community. They teach and choreograph Rueda dance as well as host and support many Latin events throughout the year. The teachers have also taught for us at DRIV. The Rueda dance community are a fantastic bunch of people and are the life of the Salsa scene here in Tromsø.
International Dance Day
Every year we participate in Dansens dag in April. We team up with other dance clubs to hold exhibitions in the city and classes to create a better awareness of dance and spread the joy.
No Siesta Fiesta
This festival is the biggest Latin American festival in Norway. We support by offering dance classes, dance at concerts, give performances and also volunteer in the production team.
Salsademika
Miguel Ramirez is the founder of Salsademika, a local dance school that teaches both couple dancing and youth dance. The dance studio also produces the Tromsø International Salsa Congress in which we contribute and participate.
Tromsø Salsa Club
This club hosts a Wednesday dance night for Tromsø where all the Salseros and Latin dancers get together and burn off the midweek blues. We also attend the club’s annual Halloween party.
